Well drilling tool preparation and on-site organization

What to prepare before, during and after the drilling project?

On the surface, a drilling project sounds as simple as digging a deep hole in the ground. But it is important to learn more about how to drill a well because it is not that simple. The preparation of drilling projects is not just about installing drilling rigs.In fact, the preparation of the drilling site begins before you arrive at the job site, and the details will be adjusted throughout the project.Where would you start?

Make sure you have all the tools you need to ensure the smooth operation of your well project. A list is provided below, outlining the items you may need throughout the drilling process. This list is a good resource when preparing for projects and deciding what to bring to the drilling site.

Casing flushing tool
Casting slide table
Hollow braided rope
Lifting bracket water bucket tripod assembly
PVC bucket
Helmet
Tool box—pipe joint compound, grease gun, wrench, nut and bolt

After arriving at the construction site, the first task is to build a well drilling area.Enclose the area with ropes, leaving enough space for the staff to move around the rig easily. This can clearly mark the area and prevent bystanders from getting too close to the rig during the excavation process.

Once the site is marked, it’s time to uninstall.Look for dry, flat ground to install tools and equipment. Then, four 55-gallon barrels were placed near the drilling site and each barrel was filled with water. Here you will mix drilling mud (bentonite or polymer) and fill the pit.Five feet away from the drum, dig two pits: a sedimentation pit and a water absorption pit. These pits are essential to keep the mud clean and collect drill cutters generated throughout the drilling process. The pit should be large enough to hold three times the volume of the drilling hole you want to drill. If the soil is sandy, these pits may need to be lined with plastic to protect the water from sand pollution and infiltration into the ground. Then, dig a 6-inch deep channel from the guide well hole to the first pit. When you are ready, you can conduct the drill.

If the equipment is well maintained, site preparation and organization will be easier.First of all, pay attention to the lubrication points to ensure that everything is well lubricated and continues to run smoothly. After every eight hours of work, use molybdenum-containing grease to lubricate the four grease bolts on the drill bit.Grease is applied through a grease nozzle that can be operated from the mast. The drill pipe thread should also be lubricated with pipe joint paste. Finally, rinse the drill pipe base before storing the rig.In the long run, these steps will help prepare equipment for the next project. When you arrive at the next place of work one step ahead, you will save time.
