Rich deposit found at depth of Colorado gold mine in Mexico

Argonaut Gold has announced the discovery of a high-grade vein of Gold beneath the El Creston open pit at its La Colorada mine in The Mexican state of Sonora. The high grade section is an extension of a vein rich in gold and shows continuity along the strike, the company said.
The main deposits are 12.2 m thick, gold grade 98.9 g/t, silver grade 30.3 g/t, including 3 m thick, gold grade 383 g/t and silver grade 113.5 g/t mineralization.
Argonaute said it had been interested in drilling to verify the mineralization beneath the Creston stope in order to determine whether the Colorado mine was ready to move from open pit to underground mining.
In 2020, the Colorado mine produced 46,371 gold equivalent and added 130,000 ounces of reserves.
In 2021, Argonaut aims to produce 55,000 to 65,000 ounces from the mine.
